Strong Island emcee Prophit comes correct on this real talk conversation. His song “Ric Flair” featuring Murda Mook and Remo Tha Hitmaker is hot in the streets but his next record “Hold New York Down” is a official salute to the great state of New York and parts from downstate to upstate. Naj Murph Releases New Mixtape THE BUFFET

Shouts out to Newburg, NY. I got this little email from a Adrienne in ATL that passed along some really good music from this kid named Naj Murph. In the past I’ve held reservations about artists from upstate NY, but my dude got a balanced flow of lyricism and charisma on the mic. The beats are slamming too. His record “Give Em What They Want” is killer and “Johnny Appleseed” is reminiscent of some ATCQ. Homie is nice and his producer Nick The Quick may have a serious future. So anyway, get Naj Murph new mixtape “THE BUFFET” now. I’m pretty sure you’ll be happy that you did.

ThrowBack: ATCQ – The Low End Theory

I’m just saying for those that don’t know, This is A Tribe Called Quest. This might be a history for some of you, but this is one of the illest groups of all time. In my lifetime, these guys helped to birth the seed that has since sprouted and grown into a rooted passion for Hip-Hop in me. I watched their documentary the other night on another cable channel created by Viacom called Paladiam, Platinum Pants or something like. When the show came on, it was probably one of the very small moments in which nothing going on in the world was more important to me. My computer could have burned to a crisp, but I was watching that damn doc. The Low End Theory is classic. I hope you take a listen to this shit, because some of you need to wake the fuck up!

(New Video) The Koolest – “1995” feat. Napoleon Da Legend

Son, son, son, son… when this joint first came on I was like where are they going with this while walking backwards, but I was aight. My dudes reminiscing on wax something that I think about often… 90’s Hip-Hop. Dude I miss that shit. At least that’s what I think they were hitting on. I was def feeling this joint though. It’s not on some loud on radio type shit that you hear, but on some I’m at BBQ with the homie in Clinton Hills, I got a brewski in my hand and we just chilling looking at skirts. That’s an honorable pat on the back my dude. Pick up The Koolest next LP entitled “Nerds At The Kool Table” that’s set to drop around October 2013.
